Yes.

I could go back and steal something else, make it appear to have happened earlier and only noticed now. Or corrupt the wiring to mimic Darkness leakage. That's what they blamed the concert fiasco on, after all.

He mimics powers. More than one person's worth at a time. Skill is not conferred. Power limit unknown, but Magneto's didn't give him any trouble. Length of time he holds them also unknown, but at least weeks.

All of that as of last time I checked: I haven't been poking around his mind, both because I'm trying not to do that sort of thing lightly here and because it's dangerous without necessity.

Those are the sorts of ideas I was suggesting, and if I can help telepathically I'm willing to. Just -- if they realize you're creating this appearance it confirms their suspicions.

That... is interesting to know. In a potentially bad way.

And if it confirms their suspicions then drastic action will be taken. But my workings are subtle and already the have no true evidence, putting them at quite a disadvantage.

Does Claire know they don't have evidence and she could pretend innocence?

I think not. You said there was warding preventing telepathic communication, yes? Perhaps an in person visit from me.

I think tell her in person without admitting anything. Assuming they'll let you in to see her. Or have her uncle tell her if he can do so subtly. Which ... I'm dubious about. I didn't see Peter at his best, but he's probably not at his best now with Claire, either.

Oh, I have no doubt he would relay such a message; I simply fear he might do so in a manner which makes it clear he knows that the evidence was removed to shield the guilty.
