IC Contact for Siren's Pull
Think hello!
Comment and I'll get back to you -- voicemail, videomail, textmail, telepathic messages, they're all good.
Email: eeb1@pobox.com
AIM: booksbeth
I check email more often than I log into AIM, so that's usually the best way to reach me, but feel free to say hello if you see me on AIM, and I can chat there at length if we meet up by prearrangement or happy coincidence.
Telepathic reply
OH! That kind of tingles... okay- ah, my friend Claire and I we broke into an AGI facility. I'm not entirely sure why, she didn't go into details. But there were Voids and she got caught I feel really bad about that.
But she gave me the things she stole and told me to flee. Might be about their slave trade? Anyway, I'm just not sure what to do with them or who to give them to.
Re: Telepathic reply
We should read through them and probably make a copy or two, then decide what to do. Are you someplace safe now?
Re: Telepathic reply
Yes.
Copies. Yes.
And blackmail. Murder if they try to lose Claire in their system.
Re: Telepathic reply
First step, apart from making backups, is to figure out what cards are in our hands. We should read the stuff you've got, and what do you know of Claire's powers and other abilities?
Re: Telepathic reply
[A pause to consider]
If what we have is of no or little value?
Re: Telepathic reply
If what we have is of little value, then we look for more cards, consider bluffing, and see if there's any way we can make the odds favor us with a more direct approach. They do have telepathy barriers over the jail; we might actually have a better chance if she were in AGI custody.
But unless there's an immediate opportunity, better to collect facts before action. The interest rate on borrowed trouble is fearsome.
Re: Telepathic reply
If we are unable to do this bloodlessly, I have a few spheres in motion that could be brought down for use. Unfortunately, they're rather ... chaotic.
With luck there will be something of use in these papers or a complete lack of evidence to support the charges.
Re: Telepathic reply
[A pause.]
If you are considering tampering with whatever evidence exists, that is time-dependent.
Re: Telepathic reply
[The impression of a scoff]
There is no evidence, truly. She did not break in, she used a key card, as an employee. The video all strangely shorted out before hand, too. For all they knew, she left her purse and simply had to retrieve it that night.
Re: Telepathic reply
Mmmmm. Is there any way we could arrange a logical reason why the video happened not to be working, perhaps another theft?
Re: Telepathic reply
I could go back and steal something else, make it appear to have happened earlier and only noticed now. Or corrupt the wiring to mimic Darkness leakage. That's what they blamed the concert fiasco on, after all.
Re: Telepathic reply
All of that as of last time I checked: I haven't been poking around his mind, both because I'm trying not to do that sort of thing lightly here and because it's dangerous without necessity.
Those are the sorts of ideas I was suggesting, and if I can help telepathically I'm willing to. Just -- if they realize you're creating this appearance it confirms their suspicions.
Re: Telepathic reply
And if it confirms their suspicions then drastic action will be taken. But my workings are subtle and already the have no true evidence, putting them at quite a disadvantage.
Re: Telepathic reply
Does Claire know they don't have evidence and she could pretend innocence?
Re: Telepathic reply
I think not. You said there was warding preventing telepathic communication, yes? Perhaps an in person visit from me.

Well. My skills are up to the task, I do think.
